The minority members of parliament on the Health Committee has commended His Royal Majesty the AsanteHene OTUMFOUR Osei Tutu ll for the "Heal Komfo Anokye" initiative which aims at raising $10million for renovation of the 70 year old Komfo Anokye teaching hospital which is at a very ugly state.
Member of Parliament for Techiman North Constituency Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, addressing the media she explained, since the hospital was established in1954 it has been a referral centre for almost 10 Regions and it is appalling to see the current state of the hospital.
She expressed displeasure about the current state of certain health facilities and the health system in Ghana.
Ofosu Agyare also expressed concern about the abandoned unit which has been left uncompleted after the NDC administration left office.
She lamented on how government collapses the actively working La General Hospital without restoring it after many years.
The legislature therefore commended OTUMFOUR for such a good initiative, urging the government to fulfill his Agenda 111 project and also to complete all the abandoned hospital facilities.
