The Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills has unleashed his plans to have storm drains constructed at Amotoe, a suburb of Komenda to curb the area's long-standing flood issues.
He made this pronouncement at the commissioning of a washroom facility for traders at the Komenda New Market, constructed by Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Running Mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general election who appears a potential Running Mate for the party in the 2024 general election.
Residents of Amotoe as constantly murmured upon, have been suffering series of fatal floods over the years with the slightest rainfall the community turns to experience.
Addressing dignitaries gathered at the ceremony, the MP affirmed that as he recently had storm drains constructed at Sesem, he isn't backing out anytime soon on such developmental works been carried out within Komenda, but will shortly have that of Amotoe attended to in complement of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang's commissioned project.
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang having hailed from Komenda and frequently shops at the market remarked that as the NDC has its goal geared towards development, judging from the poor state of the market in time past, propelled her to put up the washroom facility to equally have some portion of the market grounds which use to flood whenever it rains fixed with concrete.
Queen Mothers of the Komenda New Market, however, showered the Professor with outmost gratitude and pleaded on John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 NDC Flagbearer never to hesitate in appointing Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his Running Mate yet again for next year's general election to have the affable politician do more for the community.
