The Member of Parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills over the weekend honoured a community football gala held at the Islamic Basic School field in Ayensudo.

Accompanied by Mr.D.B Mensah, the Assembly Member elect for Ayensudo Electoral Area and the NDC Ayensudo branch executives, the MP emerged a Special Guest to the well attended football event.

The soccer gala, organized by the youths of Ayensudo was aimed at unearthing football talents to also foster a platform for social interaction.

Teams like Attabadze-based Nana Edu Club, Nsadwir Soccer Club, Ayensudo New Hope Academy, Bronyibima FC, and eight others competed for the ultimate price.

Finals of the competition saw Bronyibima FC face off Ayensudo New Hope Academy, with the latter clinching on to the trophy through a 1-0 victory.

On his address, the MP expressed delight in witnessing such a colorful event aimed at promoting youth-community friendship, emphasizing its role in fostering peace.

He also noted the need for pitch improvement and pledged support to complete the municipality's first Astro Turf pitch in Kissi for professional football activities.

Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills equally hailed the showcased football skills, sportsmanship, and the excellent spectator turnout he witnessed.

He commended the community's youth for such initiative and encouraged other communities to emulate in organizing similar programs as well.

A token of support was finally provided to organizers of the competition for participating teams.
