General Secretary of the National Council of Parents Teacher Association Mr. Raphael Gapson has said there is a clandestine plan by the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education to dissolve Parents Teacher Association at the various Senior High Schools in the country.
Speaking to SOMPA NEWS, Mr. Raphael Gapson said the two bodies have planned to rather dissolve the PTA and change it into Parents Association, a situation he challenged the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education have no rights to initiate the decision.
According to him, there was a legal backing to the formation of the PTA for the past fifty years adding that no government could just change it without any legal backing.
The Ghana Education Service in a new improved code of ethics condemned bleaching, sexual acts and hosts of indiscipline gaining grounds at the Schools.
But Mr. Raphael Gapson says though they support the enactment of the new code of ethics, they Council would not support any orchestration aimed at supposing the powers of the Teachers.
