A gory accident which occurred on Monday, January 29, 2024, around 7pm involving two motorbikes on the Assin Adadientam-Andoe road has resulted in the death of 37-year-old teacher, Isaac Arthur of the Assin Abodweseso D/A Primary School.
Two others, a pillion rider, and an okada rider who sustained various degrees of injuries are currently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu after a team of police officers of the Assin South District Police Command, led by the Commander ASP Robert Kyeremeh rushed them to the medical facility together with Hon. Simon Mensah, the Assemblyman of Assin Adadientam-Abodweseso Electoral Area.
The 37-year-old teacher was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital while the other two victims got admitted for medical attention after sustaining multiple injuries on the head, jaw, and legs.
Assemblyman for Assin Adadientam-Abodweseso Electoral Area, Hon. Simon Mensah in an interview with Sompa News Eric Annan explained that the deceased teacher who was from Assin Andoe towards Assin Adadientam direction was on board to a pillion rider, whereas, the Okada rider was traveling from the opposite direction when the unfortunate head-on collision occurred.
Hon. Simon Mensah, however, urged road users to be discipline when on the road to reduce carnages.
Family member to the deceased, Mr. Richard Oboh disclosed that the deceased left behind a wife and four (4) children.
He recounted that the absence of the deceased would heavily affect the future growth of the children since he was the breadwinner of the house.
The body of the deceased has therefore been deposited at the St. Francis Hospital Morgue for preservation.
