Tension is mounting at Acheamfour Market in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region as the wife of the late owner of the market Mrs Sarah Baah Acheamfour has locked up over 600 stores ahead of his funeral next week.
The stores which belong to Acheamfour Group of Companies were given to traders by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) after the demolition of the Kejetia lorry terminal.
Heavily armed police officers from the Ashanti Regional Police Command stormed the market this morning to locked up the offices of the market because of a court order secured by the the late wife of the owner of the market.
Some of the family members of the late owner of the market protesting the action of the late wife of their brother said they were shocked by the actions of the woman
Mr Collins Anokye, the manager of Acheamfour Market added that the final funeral rites of his late uncle will be held in two weeks from now and was expecting the wife to wait until the funeral is over before taking such action.
Some family members of the late chief executive officer of Acheamfour Group of Companies owners of Acheamfour Market accused the wife of taking over the properties of their late brother.
