The 1996-year group of the Seventh-Day Adventist Senior High School at Agona in the Sekyere South District Assembly of the Ashanti Region has donated to their Almar matter by renovated one of the buildings in the Home Economics Department.
Dignitaries that graced the program were; Representative of Agona Traditional Council Acting President, Nana Agyapa Ameyaw, Nana Adu Ansa the Ankobeahene of Agona Traditional Council, the District Director of Education Mr. George Adu Abrokwa, The Headmaster Mr. Kingsley Ofori Gyimah and his Assistants Headmasters Mr. Seth Tuffour, Mr. Asiamah and Mr. Dugbetey, Pastor Emmanuel Acheampong and Pastor Thomas Opoku, School chaplains etc.
Mr. Kingsley Ofori Gyimah express his heartfelt appreciation to the 1996-year group for renovating the Home Economics Classroom and providing the needed items. He also appealed to all the remaining year groups to come back to their Almar matter and donate to them. He also mentioned some of the things they needed like chairs at the Assembly Hall, their administration block etc.
According to the President of the 1996-year group Mr. Eric Addai Antwi in his speech said, they spent an amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (25,000) to revote the room and provided sewing machines and other items in the room to the Home economic students in the school.
In an interview with the District Director of Education Mr. George Adu Abrokwa, he made it known that now the TVET education is more important in the education setup that’s why the government is spending huge sums of money to build schools under the TVET Education and he advise the students to take it seriously so that it will help them in their near future.
In an interview with the President of the 1996-year group, Mr. Eric Addai Antwi, he narrated the reason why they took that initiative to adopt part of the Home Economics Department to renovate and provided the necessary equipment to the room.
Headmaster of the school, Mr. Kingsley Ofori Gyimah showed his appreciation to the 1996-year group for such a wonderful donation and made a passionate appeal to all year groups to come into their own school to do something for them.
The school choir entertained the audience with good tunes of melodious music.
