His Lordship John-Mark Nuku Alifo of the Cape Coast High Court 2, who on Thursdays, February 8, 2024 presided over the trial of murdered, Georgina Asor Botchwey has outlaid his intention to have a panel setup to see to the 'expeditious' hearing of the widely monitored case.
According to the judge, in other to have the case swiftly addressed to make way for other equally crucial cases, will have his yet-to-be-known panel sit on the case three times every week from Monday-Wednesday in the morning from 9am-11am before any other case will be heard.
Deceased Georgina Asor Botchwey, 22, prior to her gruesome murder, was a resident of Yeji in the Bono East Region and an applicant seeking to be admitted to the Ankaful Psychiatric Nursing School in the Central Region, through which she met her untimely death after a successful interview at the school.
Findings conducted by the police uncovers, Christopher Ekow Quansah Clark (alias Nana Clark), the Tufuhene of Ekumfi Akwaakrom and Michael Darko, a self-styled pastor carry out the barbaric act for money ritual on September 9, 2022 at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region.
The case has however been adjourned to Tuesday, February 13, 2024, after second accused, Michael Darko was reported to have been admitted at the Police Hospital in Accra.
Representatives of the Attorney General who were fully present during trial, reported the second accused to have been bedridden at the hospital for days, only to be discharged on Thursday morning.
To this end, the suspects remanded into lawful police custody in Accra inability to appear before the Cape Coast High Court for the first time on Thursday after a successful committals at the Cape Coast District Court.
