Adumhene of the Denkyira Traditional Council in the Central Region, Nana Kwabena Amoateng lll has vehemently condemned the stance taken by Otumfour Amoah Sasraku IV, Paramount Chief of the Twifo Hemang to kick against the nomination of Hon. Nana Kweku Abban to be the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area.

According to him, adjudged that it's needless for a chief to interfere in political matters, let alone slaughter an animal in the heat of political disagreement.

This follows a press conference organized by the Paramount Chief on Monday, February 12, 2024 to oppose the DCE nominee for the District by slaughtering a sheep to that effect on the grounds that Hon. Nana Kweku Abban is disrespectful and insubordinate to lead the area as its DCE.

Speaking in an interview with Sompa News Eric Annan, Nana Kwabena Amoateng fumed at the action of Otumfour Amoah Sasraku to be uncalled-for, as he stressed that such practice ought not be entertained in the District.

He criticized the invoking of curses and slaughtering of a sheep by Otumfour Amoah Sasraku during his press conference to be unnecessary to the extent that, the subject matter boils down to politics, which beholds on Assembly Members of the District to decide. Hence the need for the action carried out by the Chief of Twifo Heman to be rebuked.

Nana Kwabena Amoateng further disclosed Hon. Kenneth Sarpong, the District's former DCE to be sick, hence government's appointment to have Hon. Nana Kweku Abban who was once the Assemblyman for Bremang Mbem Electoral Area and the immediate past Presiding Member for the District be replaced as the DCE.

Napoleon Owusu Asante Adjei, the newly elected Presiding Member for Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira District Assembly who doubles as the Assemblyman for Hemang West Electoral Area equally scolded the slaughtering of sheep to curse the DCE nominee.

He described the soon to be confirmed DCE to be a selfless and development oriented persona, thus, the need for all to rally behind him to facilitate the developmental works the District so yearns for.
