Calm has finally been restored between the Enchi-Kwawu and Boinso, communities in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region after the two communities had a misunderstanding during an inter-school gala competition at Enchi-Kwawu.
The two communities, Boinso and Enchi-Kwawu in the Aowin Municipality in the Western North Region clashed during an inter-school gala competition at Enchi-Kwawu after a misunderstanding. Due to that, the organizers of the competition couldn't complete the tournament. However, the cause of the clash remains unclear.
The clash, however, did not end at the park where they had the inter-school gala competition, it was reported that both communities began to fight each other in town. Enchi-Kwawu residents attacked the Boinso people whenever they came to Kwawu whilst the Boinso residents did the same.
After several days of misunderstanding, both chiefs of the communities have called for calm among themselves. At a durbar involving opinion leaders of the two communities, the chief of Enchi-Kwawu, Nana Tano Kabaah II described the incident as unfortunate as he was not in the community when the incident happened.
Also, the chief of Boinso, Nana Kwadwo Miah III appealed to the residents in both communities to avoid attacking each other now that they have both restored calm. He reinstated that whoever would be seen attacking each other face the consequences thereof.
