The Wenchi Municipality of the Bono region was at the weekend thrown into a state of shock and disbelief, when the Police retrieved a decomposed body wrapped with a white bed sheet from a ceiling at a compound house at Gensoso, a suburb of the town.
The Police had since deposited the remains at the Wenchi Government Hospital mortuary, Sompa FM learnt.
A reliable Police source told Sompa FM the Police had commenced investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the lady, yet to be identified and called for calm.
In an interview with the media Mr Joseph Nkrumah, popularly known as 'Aluta' the Assembly Member of Kaamu/Gensoso Electoral area, said some tenants discovered the body.
The Assembly Member explained he received a phone call from one of the unit committee members at Gensoso, near Wenchi who informed him about the incident.
Occupants of the house heard some unusual noise on the top of the ceiling in one of the rooms every night, a situation which had given them sleepless nights for some time now, Mr Nkrumah stated.
"So, one of the tenants claimed a ladder and the ceiling and discovered the decomposed body, wrapped with a white bed sheet with mice around it", he indicated, saying the Police were informed and they came to the scene and took the body.
"It is somehow strange that there was no smell in the house", Mr Nkrumah said saying that nobody had since been arrested as the Police continued with their investigation.
