Cocoa farmers at Larbikrom in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District in the Central Region have urged government and the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare to strengthen security in the community.
This is because the area for some time now has been suffering security threats.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa News Eric Annan, residents of the community lamented that some unknown individuals have invaded the community to threaten their lives with weapons, as over 12 acres of cocoa farms have been plunged down by these invaders.
According to them, these unknown persons in executing their atrocious act, carries chainsaw machine around, which has led to their wards fear in attending school.
Hence require on government and IGP Dampare to swiftly respond to their clarion call.
Some affected victims to the deed also added that the activities of these invaders have made life very difficult for them, as the destroyed cocoa farms appear their only source of livelihood.
They recounted that its from these same cocoa farm they use in sponsoring their children in the secondary school and university.
Thus, call on the area's District Chief Executive, Hon. Lawrence Adutuah Asiaw and the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah to come to their aid with some support.
