Assemblyman for Nkanfoa-3rd Ridge Electoral Area in the Cape Coast North Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Benjamin Benyah has compelled residents of his area to prioritize cleanliness as hallmark to the community's pursuit for development.
He urged residents to strive and make Nkanfoa sparkling clean by discarding the attitude of disposing off refuse into drainage systems of the community.
Hon. Benjamin Benyah recounted that as Assin Kushea has been touted the cleanest city in Ghana, propelled citizenry of Nkanfoa to collectively imitate Assin Kushea by making Nkanfoa become the cleanest community in the Cape Coast Metropolis.
He made this statement at the Nkanfoaman Easter Festival 2024 dubbed "Reviving Nkanfoaman Communal Spirit, The Role of Stakeholders."
The annually held event, had its edition this year earmarked purposely to raise funds for the community's Nkanfoaman Education Fund, which sort to offer academic assistance to brilliant but needy students of the area.
The Assemblyman again cautioned residents of Nkanfoa who are fun of dumping refuse and faeces haphazardly into gutters of the area to be cautious, as whoever that will be caught in the act, will be shown no mercy but severely dealt with by leadership of the community.
Hon. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency upon gracing the occasion with a donation of GH¢2,000 to the Education Fund, motivated natives of Nkanfoa who have travelled to seek greener pastures elsewhere to equally come in with their contribution to cushion the fund withstand the test of time.
Nana Anafo IX, Chief of Nkanfoa on the growth of the Education Fund, assured to convince other natives of Nkanfoa elsewhere to see reasons to donate to the fund, as he further appealed to all within the community to put hands on deck to collectively see to the development of Nkanfoa.
Other donors to the Nkanfoaman Education Fund include Horace Ekow Ewusi, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Cape Coast North Constituency, who at the festival donated GH¢1,000.
The event amid the funds generated to set up the Nkanfoaman Education Fund, evenly saw reputable personalities like Nana Ekow Akon, Twafohene of the Oguaa Traditional Council and Mr. Philip Nartey, the Chief Inspector of Schools at the Cape Coast Metro Education.
Meanwhile, awards were issued at the festival grounds to some outstanding students and schools who performed creditably at the community's inter-school quiz competition, as citations were as well given to honour some selfless individuals whose unwavering support and dedication has facilitated the development Nkanfoa currently enjoys.
