The strategic plan of the Methodist Church Ghana in the year 2024 dubbed, "Agenda for Revival, Transformation and Growth" has been unveiled by the Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese of the church.
Right Rev Kwaku Effah explained the five point strategic plan is aimed at ensuring the continuous existence and growth of the Orthodox Church.
The five strategic plan include;
1. To stir up the Wesleyan zeal of evangelism, discipleship and holiness towards accelerated church growth by 7%.
2. To nurture and emote the active exercise of the charismatic gifts and practical life of the church in 2024.
3. To make the church more responsive to the needs of the youth and provide adequate resources and opportunities for employment.
4. To develop innovative approaches and alternative sources for financial resources mobilization and management.
5. To create a more caring and compassionate church system that responds to members' welfare needs.
Rt. Rev Kwaku Effah was speaking at the official opening of the 45th Sunyani Diocesan Synod of the church held at the Wesley Cathedral on Friday April 26.
The official opening was attended by members of the clergy of the church, past and present lay representatives, Minister's spouses, representatives from other denomination.
The rest are the Bono regional Minister and some political heads, traditional authorities, institutional heads, and heads of the security services.
In his speech, the fifth Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese also entreated all circuits and societies to draw Action Plans and pursue their set set targets religiously.
Rt Rev Effah revealed the Methodist Church Ghana will elect a new Presiding Bishop and Administrative Bishop at the 2024 Biennial Conference in August at the Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi.
"Elections will also be conducted at some Diocesan Synods to elect Bishops and Lay Chairman to succeed those whose tenures elapse at the end of September 2024. I entreat all of us to pray and wait on the Lord to choose for us leaders after his own heart."
