Members of Gye Nyame, a youth group situated at Moree in the Abura- Asebu-Kwamankese constituency in the Central Region, created to sort after the well-being of the fishing community, have outspokenly complained over the area's longstanding chieftaincy uproar.
According to the group, Moree which is well known within the Central Region and beyond for its fishing exploits, since the demise of its late chief, Nana Adzekese X over twenty (20) years on, is yet to enstool a successor to its effect.
All as a result of existing misunderstanding within the royal family as to who best deserves to be enstooled the next chief.
Residents narrate that Moree's inability to install a chief over two decades now, has gratefully affected the development of the community, since there is no leader to see to the facilitation of developmental projects into the area.
Papa Fynn Junior, Convenor for Gye Nyame, addressing the media in a stint press briefing on Tuesday, remarked that all effort by the youths to have Moree find a chief in the last few years have all proved futile until Tuesday, May 21, 2024, where a successor was appointed to fill in the gap as Nana Adzekese Xl.
He relayed the youths of Moree to have sheer confidence in the chosen successor, who they throw full support behind, having come at a point the community so needed him and urged leadership of the royal family to immediately perform all customary rites left out to have him crowned as the next chief of Moree.
Some residents in delight of the appointment of the soon to be crowned chief noted that the insults they have been suffering for years now for not having a chief, will soon be a thing of the past, through which the community will seize to reclaim all its lost pride and inheritance.
