The Odomase Number One Traditional Council in the Sunyani West Municipality has cautioned the Fiapre divisional council against its decision to swear an oath of allegiance to the Asantehene and the Asanteman Council.
The Traditional Council presided by Odomfour Dr Kwasi Apraku, insisted that the Fiapre stool lands were part of the Odomase Traditional Area.
Addressing a news conference at Odomase, the Municipal capital, Nana Adanse Poduo II, the Paramount Queen-mother of Odomase Number One said the council was aware and followed procedures being taken by the Fiaprehene, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II to swear allegiance to Golden Stool (Sikadwa) of the Asanteman council.
Clad in mourning regalia with red armbands and flanked by the other sub-chiefs, Nana Poduo II, warned the Fiaprehene, saying his attempts to join the Asanteman council would not only attract the wrath of the Odomase Number One stool, but majority of the chiefs and people of Fiapre.
Abusuapanyin Godlove Boateng, the Kurontri Abusuapanyin of the Odomase Number One Traditional Area gave a brief history, saying the chiefs and people of the Area settled at Odomase in 1606, and added the Fiapre people only sought refuge on the Odomase Number One lands.
