Mr Amo Kotei, a local government expert has blamed the government for the recent strike action of the members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG).
He explained, the current state of the economy has worsened the existing hardship of the Ghanaian worker.
The strike is a protest against the government's failure to implement their new salary structure, which was approved by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission..
The new salary structure was approved after one and a half years since a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was reached.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani Ade Akye Abiaa show host, Nana Kwame Owusu Nkwantabisa Mr Kotei explained, the Vice President recently promised to pay the delayed nursing trainees allowance when he was questioned during his youth connect program at Techiman.
The Vice President ordered for the release of the allowance and it happened.
Mr Kotei said, this sends a signal to the CLOGSAG members that the government has money but has failed to implement their new salary hence the strike.
