The mortal remains of Joe, a man believed to be in his 30s has been  found after drowning in River Akora at Gomoa Ekwamkrom in the Gomoa Central District in the Central Region.

Report by Sompa News Eric Annan has it that, the deceased and his girlfriend went to the river on Friday to swim, but the deceased unfortunately failed to come out of the river after swimming for a while.

Sources say, the girlfriend out of fear and frustration, drew the attention of nearby community members to swim in search of Joe, but yield no results.

Chiefs and residents of the community including divers, the following day, made several effort to fine the body of the deceased but all to no avail.

The situation called for the intervention of the area's fetish priest, who came in to pour libation and performed other rituals to appease the river god to release the body of the deceased.

After performance of the rituals by the fetish priest, body of the deceased was found the next day at Gomoa Brofoyedu, a nearby community to Gomoa Ekwamkrom.

Body of the deceased has since been conveyed to the Agona Swedru Hospital Mortuary for preservation, whiles the Police have intervene with investigation into the matter.
