The newly enstooled Benkumhene of Enyan Apaa Division in the Central Region, Nana Okoaben Assan ll has advised chiefs in the country to tone down their expectations on government for the development of their communities.
He advised that chiefs in the country should make efficient do with resources available to them at their areas to personally facilitate development in their communities instead of looking upon government.
Nana Okoaben Assan ll relayed this after his colorful coronation on Friday, August 23, 2024 following the demise of Nana Okoaben Assan l.
According to him, chiefs in the country can cause a great change at their respective communities with the little resources at their disposal and can refine whatever they find within their settlement and make good money of it for their area's development.
He observed his concentration to be centred on agriculture for his community, since his landscape is known for farming and beseeched his fellow chiefs to do likewise, either to look into aquaculture or crop farming depending on the favourability of the location.
Nana Okoaben Assan having eulogized education to be the bedrock of development to every country, he assured to lease with all well-doing citizenries of Enyan Apaa to come onboard and better the living condition of the community's education system.
He again admonished to set up an educational fund within his first 100 days as chief of the area to see to it that teenagers been used for farming instead of be in the classroom is halted for every young individual in the community to get access to formal education in this era of free education.
The affable chief further remarked to make a difference in the community through agriculture by establishing a cassava factory in the next six (6) months on the stool, having had similar project stuck halfway with available farm lands already intact.
