The District Chief Executive for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira in the Central Region, Hon. Nana Kweku Abban has shared frustration over the fact some unidentified persons have started encroaching the District Assembly's reserved lands.
Hon. Abban addressing honourable members at the District Assembly's meeting, he observed that not only has the District Assembly's reserved lands been encroached by these unknown individuals, some school lands have equally been allocated to some private persons for unapproved developments.
He, however, cautioned constituents and prospective private companies or individuals purchasing these government lands to desist from such act.
The DCE recounted that the Assembly will in due course, use appropriate legal framework to demolish all unapproved structures which have secretly found space on government lands belonging to schools in the District and the District Assembly.
He again cautioned individuals or groups who are bent on selling state lands to unsuspecting clients to equally refrain from such practices.
The Central Regional Manager for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr. Emmanuel Lumor at the Assembly Meeting relayed that about 70% of the company's encountered power outages are often created by invalid human practices like illegal connections, crashing down of electric poles among many others.
He admonished that though some planned electricity servicing undertaken at times generate power outages, majority of insults the company receives from the citizenry over power outages are mostly no fault of the ECG but persons in the community.
Mr. Lumor further beseeched members of the Assembly to help ECG serve the people of Ghana in the best capacity it long for, by reporting offenders of power outages to face the necessary punishment, considering the company's numerous steps undertaken to ensure customer satisfaction.
