The Chief Executive Officer of COA Research and Manufacturing Company Limited, Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan has outlined the possibility of the Central Region becoming the richest region in Ghana and not the other way round.
Speaking as the special guest of honour at the 3rd edition of the Central Expo, the astute manufacturer recounted that with resources the Central Region is endured with, it should always emerge first in whatever it does.
Thus, with the proper attitude, the Central Region can become the richest region in the country in the next three (3) years, which to him seems more than possible to be achieved.
He again whipped the enthusiasm among citizenry in the region to wholly participate in the expo which sort to showcase the region on the world map and as well facilitate in it development, since turnout for the program emerged unencouraging to him.
The 2024 Central Expo, celebrated on the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating Business Opportunities in the Central Region" like its previous editions, witnessed over 300 exhibitors of varied products along with a free health screening, kids playground, and a farmers market with fresh farm produce.
Chief Director for the Central Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. Michael Owusu Amoako who spoke on behalf of the Central Regional Minister, notified how hearting it is to see the Central Expo evolved over the years into a global brand, creating an invariable platform for exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and all stakeholders.
He admonished that not only is the chosen theme for the exposition a reflection of the shared goals of stakeholders, but also a call to action.
Mr. Owusu Amoako asserted that the expo is in to build bridges, foster partnerships and explore new avenues for growth that will transform the economic landscape of the region.
He shared gladness to note that the region is creating greater and more opportunities for setup businesses, which makes the Central Region an ideal destination for doing business.
President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Breman Traditional Area, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, expressed excitement over a youth business forum organized prior to the expo which was geared towards getting graduates with business plans but with no start-up capitals instead of graduates with certificates in search of jobs.
According to him, the theme for this year's expo confirms the need to work together and the importance of the contributions of all stakeholders in achieving the desired results to move the region to the next level in respect of trade, tourism, and investment.
The 2024 Central Expo following its improvement and activities, pulled to its opening ceremony revered personalities like the paramount chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarimba Dr. Kwesi Atta ll, various MMDCEs across the region, Regional Directors of various organizations, paramount chiefs of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, sponsors, partners among others.
