Dean for the School of Business at Legon and a former National Cua Chairman, Prof. Samuel Nana Yaw Simpson has advised the youth in the country to save money to secure their future.
He bemoaned that youth usually misuses money in purchasing excess call credit on their phone, but advised them to save at least Gh¢5 per month which at the end of the year will grow to become a huge money.
Prof. Simpson additionally highlighted credit union to be an institution that has over the years offered enormous help to most people especially famers, traders, government workers and private workers.
To this, he beseeched government to enact laws that will protect the operation of credit unions in the country.
He made this statement at the 30th Anniversary of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Teachers Cooperative Credit Union in the Central Region on Wednesday.
Director of Education for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Mrs. Sabina Quansah unveiled the help credit union has offered her, as her house, cars and other properties were all acquired through saving with the credit union.
WShe then tasked head teachers in her district to join the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Teachers Cooperative Credit Union and encouraged other teachers to do same.
She opined that the credit union will help teachers get whatever they desire due to their good policies for teachers and a moderate loans for them as well.
Chief Executive Officer for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Teachers Cooperative Credit Union, Mrs. Dorothy Ansah Mbir eulogized the benefits in saving and urged everyone to try and save some money.
She advised clients to stop coming for money on weekly basis upon deposit which doesn't help the growth and potency of their savings.
Mrs. Dorothy again outlined her outfit to be putting in place relevant measures to give customers more better services.
