The Deputy Director of Education for the Central Region, Madam Harriet Idun-Sagoe has charged parents to discharge their duties adequately to aid enhance the education of their children.
According to her, quality education can only be achieved if various stakeholders play their respective roles efficiently.
Madam Harriet Idun-Sagoe made this statement at the 94th speech and prize giving day of Jukwa Methodist Basic School in the Hemang Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region earmarked on the theme, "Celebrating 94 Years of Quality Education: The Role of Stakeholders."
She envisaged that quality education is not just a goal, but a necessity for a brighter and more equitable future.
Adding that education is not merely a pathway to personal development, but a foundational pillar of the community and the bedrock to sustainable growth.
She urged that the pursuit of quality education is not a solo endeavour but requires the consented effort of multiple stakeholders with each playing a vital role in shaping the educational landscape.
Headmistress of Jukwa Methodist Basic School, Augustina Annan admonished the school to have chopped a number of successes over the years.
Notable among these include the improvement of student's grade and academic performance, success in the just ended zonal reading competition as champions, improved student's attendance and punctuality, improved student's confidence, low teacher turnout rate, recognition for teaching excellence among many others.
Despite the school's academic successes enumerated above, the Headmistress recounted the school to be facing several other challenges on infrastructure and learning materials.
She, therefore, appealed on philanthropists, directors of education, the clergy, honourable members of various political parties and all stakeholders to assist the school put up an ultramodern school toilet and bathroom facilities to help students maintain personal hygiene, as well as television screens and playing equipments to help improve learning experience of the school's kindergarten pupils.
Mr. Kofi Agyin, Operations Manager for Lawrence Kwabena Agyinsam, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Hemang Lower Denkyira District, speaking on behalf of the PC, eulogized the Exim bank CEO's prioritization of education, coupled with the vast educational support plan he envisage for the district.
Hence his constant assistance to schools of the district having donated a sum of GH¢10,000 to his alma mater during its 94th anniversary ceremony.
The colorful ceremony beheld the presence of astute dignitaries like the Hemang Lower Denkyira Education Director, Madam Lucy Nkansah, running mate for the Movement for Change, Lawyer Kwame Owusu Danso, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Hemang Lower Denkyira, Lawyer Seth Agyapong Mensah, teaching body of the school and parents of students.
