There was near pandemonium when a swamp of bees on Friday October 18 invaded the central mosque on the Zongo-one-way in Sunyani, the Bono regional capital.
The bees terrorised congregants during Friday prayers at about 1320hours there by compelling them to run helta scelta for their lives whilst businesses were also forced to close down.
The congregants who had gathered to worship, whilst fleeing the mosque had their faces covered with their clothes to save themselves from the attack.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Ambulance Service were called to contain the situations.
ADOI Kwame Adomako Antwi, Bono regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS who confirmed the incident to Sompa News said, they received a distress call from someone at the Sunyani Zongo that there was fire outbreak, but surprisingly met the attack of the bees.
"A crew of six fire fighters who were at the scene were attacked by the bees", he added.
Despite the attack, ADO1 Adomako Antwi said the personnel were able to bring the situation under control which helped the Islamic congregants to worship peacefully.
However the officers have been treated and discharged.
But some of the residents of the area and some congregants expressed shock, saying this has never happened in the area.
