The Central Regional command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has embarked on an intensive door-to-door fire safety education to control the spate of fire outbreaks during the festive season.
The Fire Safety team across the region on its awareness campaign, visited community centres, lorry stations, markets, shops and offices to conscientize the public on basic fire safety precautions and also address their concerns with regards to the service and its operations.
The Cape Coast team visited areas like Amamoma, Kotokuraba market, Abura Market, Kakumdo community, Ankaful community, Esuekyir community, among others.
Similar campaign is waged across other districts in the Central Region.
ADOI Precious Enam Kuduwor, the Deputy Regional Fire Safety Officer and leader of the education campaign in Cape Coast uncovered that the fire safety education is equally ongoing, as the door-to-door fire safety initiative is to ensure that the message reaches more people in the region.
ADOI Kuduwor advised that the emergency numbers of the service be known by every individual to be able to reach out to the service swiftly in case of any incident.
