In a passionate call to action, traditional rulers in Ghana have been implored to place outmost priority in having their names in the books of the National House of Chiefs.
As most chiefs and queen mothers in the country seems to procrastinate in getting gazetted by the nation's apex traditional authority, has dished out the need for admonition.
Okakaben Idun Andoh X, Paramount Chief of the Kwamankese Traditional Area in the Central Region made this assertion at the traditional council's last council meeting of the year on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Ayeldu.
Okakaben Andoh in a media engagement after the council meeting, observed the importance of gazette to traditional rulers and the need for them to place esteemed value on it.
According to the paramount chief, getting gazetted as a traditional ruler affirms your acceptance and recognition by the state.
He added that the acquisition of a gazette bares the tendency of paving way to numerous avenues for traditional rulers. Uncovering that a chief or queen mother without a gazette is ban from showing at several gatherings like even council meetings.
Some chiefs and queen mothers at the Kwamankese Traditional Area at their end welcomed the advise given by Okakaben Andoh following its potency on their reign as traditional rulers.
They championed the need for colleague chiefs and queen mothers across the country who are yet to be gazetted to abide by the advise and do the needful.
