The driver is currently battling for his life at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital upon his unfortunate incident where a team of armed robbers numbering five blocked the Gomoa Akotsi-Kwanyarko Road and fired multiple bullets on his car.
The victim managed to drive to the nearest police checkpoint for assistance while bleeding profusely after sustaining multiple gunshots by the armed robbers.
Isaac Ayim in an interaction with Sompa TV's Eric Annan indicated that himself and his mate were heading towards Agona Swedru after offloading goods in Accra, but upon reaching the outskirt of Gomoa Akraman, he saw these robbers flashing torch lights to signal them to stop but he failed to comply, leading to the shooting.
According to him, his head was struck by some of the bullets that penetrated into the windscreen of his Kia Truck.
Meanwhile some commercial drivers and commuters have become alarmed by the increasing trend of attacks on the road and calls on authorities to enhance security on the stretch.
