Mr Mohammed Bawa, the Asunafo North Constituency Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ahafo Region has condemned attacks on some private toilet operators at Mim in the constituency by some supporters of the party.
Some irate youth of the town perceived to be supporters of the NDC attacked the private toilet operators and locked the facilities for visitors.
The violent attack which happened on January 10, 2025, received huge public condemnation, however, NDC constituency executives intervened and the facilities had since been re-opened for public use.
In an interview with the media Mr Bawa described the incident as unfortunate, and warned the party supporters to refrain from acts and bad practices that could make the NDC and the government unpopular in the eyes of the masses.
He said preliminary investigations showed that some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area gave false information to the attackers that the toilets were public facilities.
Nonetheless, Mr Bawa added that "the NDC does not support any act of lawlessness", saying that the party executives in the constituency had since resolved the matter with the owners of the facility.
