The Banda Traditional Area in the Bono Region has expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for the nomination of Mr Ahmed Ibrahim as the Minister-designate for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
Describing the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Banda Constituency in the region's nomination as a reflection of the President's sensitivity to the plight of the local people, the chiefs lauded the hard work, humility and resilience of the MP towards the development of the area.
"The chiefs and people of the Bono Region and Banda Traditional Area see the nomination as a testament to President Mahama's confidence in our MP", Nana Hayaw Bosom II, the Adontenhene (sub-chief) of the Banda Traditional Area told Sompa FM an interview.
During a visit to the area, Nana Bosom II, also the Chief of Banda-Bongase, also appealed to the President to appoint a native of the area to serve as a board member of the Bui Power Authority, the managers of the Bui Generating Station in the Banda district.
He congratulated the Minister-designate and urged him to leverage on his new political portfolio to bring the development of the area to the next level.
"We want to assure him that we are solidly behind him and we look forward to his transformative contributions towards the holistic development of the constituency in particular and the region by extension", Nana Bosom II stated.
