Some women in politics are calling on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint a woman as the Sunyani Metropolitan Chief Executive

According to them, women were passionate for development, saying as A woman mayor, the development of the metropolis could be brought to the next level

In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, one of them only known as Dorothy chanced on at the Sunyani Night market enclave, with a woman as the Sunyani Mayor, the voices of women could be heard in decision making process

 Another woman, Ellen Adutumwaa indicated that women were good in leadership and appointing a woman as the Mayor would facilitate the development of the Metropolis.

 In a view, Francisca Akua said the government ought to appoint more women to bridge the gender gap in the nation's politics.

However, some male politicians also expressed divergent views, calling on the President to appoint a male Mayor.

Mr Emmanuel Kwame Amoh a businessman noted that as a metropolis now, it required a male mayor to push its progressive development.

 A television Repairer, Hayford Antwi noted that the performance of the immediate past Sunyani MCE was credible and therefore a male mayor ought to be appointed to continue on the work of his predecessor.
