Baffour Dei Kusi Agyei II, the Nisuasehene of the Dormaa Traditional Council in the Bono Region has urged parents to encourage their children to pursue agricultural programmes.
He said farming remained a lucrative enterprise and urged the unemployed graduates and youth to venture into it and better their lots.
Baffour Agyei II gave the advice when speaking at the celebration of the Catholic Education Week at the Dormaa St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church at Dormaa-Ahenkro, and urged parents to inspire their children to pursue farming as a life career.
He expressed worry about the desire of the youthful generation for white color jobs, which had added was contributing to rising youth unemployment in the country.
Baffour Agyei II The Reverend Father Mathew Yeboah, the Parish Priest of the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church also urged cautioned the youth against lawlessness and advised them to respect the elderly in society.
He also urged the students to concentrate on their books and learn hard to grow and occupy enviable positions in society.
