Some residents in the Sunyani Municipality have expressed concern about the monetization which has characterised the confirmation of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the country.
They observed that the bad practice remained the bane of socio-economic and political development at the local levels, calling for measures to stem the practice.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Madam Gladys Pomaa, a resident at New-Dormaa Mango Grove said until the practice was stop it would be difficult for development to thrive in local communities.
Some of the residents also expressed unhappiness about partisan politics which had 'eaten' into the District Assembly concept, and thereby slowing down development. Kwaku Amponsah, another resident highlighted the negative effects of partisanship at the district assemblies.
