Attempts by President John Dramani Mahama to create additional public holidays have attracted the displeasure of some residents in the Sunyani Municipality.

They are therefore urging the President to concentrate on his 2024 campaign promise of job creation and poverty reduction instead.

In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Christian Marfo a businessman said "we need jobs and not holidays".

Janet Nkoana, a food vendor said "we even expect the President to reduce the holidays and not to add on".
