The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has led the Regional Coordinating Council to collaborate with Zoomlion Ghana in a large-scale clean-up exercise at Allabar.
The initiative forms part of activities marking Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebration in the Ashanti Region.
The clean-up exercise aimed to promote environmental cleanliness and reinforce the importance of sanitation among residents.
Armed with cleaning tools, participants, including government officials, Zoomlion workers, and community members, cleared waste, desilted gutters, and swept streets to improve hygiene in the area.
The exercise is part of a broader effort to instill a culture of cleanliness and civic responsibility as Ghana marks another milestone in its history.
The Ashanti Regional Manager of Zoomlion Company Limited Mr George Manu said the company supported the clean up with brand new state-of-the-art-waste collection trucks which will help address the problem of lack of adequate garbage trucks and also ensure effective and efficient management of waste in the Greater Kumasi area.
