Micheal Harry Yamson, the acting Administrator of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), has pledged to ensure the timely disbursement of funds to district assemblies, emphasising his commitment to addressing delays that have often hindered local development projects.
The timely disbursement of the DACF has been a longstanding challenge, with delays often disrupting development projects at the district level.
These delays have been a source of frustration for local governments, which rely on the funds to implement critical infrastructure and social initiatives.
Speaking during his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Yamson revealed that he had secured assurances from the Finance Minister to expedite the release of funds once approved.
“Yesterday, I was part of a meeting with the finance minister and he assured me that now as my funds are approved, he will pay. I assured him and I give you the same that as your funds accrue, however, you approve the formula to start, I will also disburse in a very timely manner,”.
