The Twifo Hemang District Court, presided over by His Worship Maxwell Ofori Kpodo has sentenced 50-year-old, Eric Adu Amissah, to 6 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting seven minor girls at Twifo Hemang, in the Hemang Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region.
The victims, all under the age of 7, were students at a cultural dance school operated by the convict.
According to police investigations, Adu Amissah, who is said to be a choreography teacher, exploited his position as a cultural dance instructor to abuse the trust of his young students.
The convict allegedly used manipulative tactics including buying soft drinks, toffees for the children and applying a lubricant on his penis and fingers to facilitate the abuse.
The convict, Eric Adu Amissah, according to the prosecutor, jumped bail for six months after being granted bail during the initial stage of the investigation.
However, through the vigorous efforts of the Central North Regional Police Cyber Unit, the convict was located and arrested in Adenta, Greater Accra Region.
On 05/03/2025, the accused was brought before the Twifo Hemang District Court to face seven counts of indecent assault, which he pleaded guilty to all counts.
He has, therefore, been convicted and sentenced accordingly.
