Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, remain in custody at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) headquarters, according to their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea.
The couple has been detained as investigations into allegations of financial misconduct and corruption continue.
Speaking to the media, Akyea expressed confidence in his client’s resilience and determination to see justice prevail.
“He is still behind bars at EOCO headquarters, and I know he is determined to relax until justice will set him free,” the lawyer stated.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with allegations of embezzlement and misuse of public funds dominating headlines. Adu-Boahene, who served as the head of the NSB, is accused of diverting funds intended for cybersecurity infrastructure into private accounts. His wife is also implicated in the ongoing investigations.
Atta Akyea has criticised the handling of the case, emphasising the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that his clients receive a fair trial and that their rights are upheld throughout the legal proceedings.
