ACFO Grade II Mr Cicel Addo, the Bono Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has expressed worry about obsolete fire equipment and other challenges slowing down the service ability to respond to emergency situation in the region.

Speaking on the Friday edition of the Sompa Ade Akye Abia morning show, the fire commander called on the government to tackle the numerous challenges impeding the work of the service.

Comparatively she said the GNFS was under-resourced, saying adequate resources would position the service in the region well to tackle the recurring fire outbreaks.

That notwithstanding, ACFO III Addo said the service in the region had put up measures to enable it to respond to fire outbreaks and other emergencies.
