Muslim community in the Central Region, under the stewardship of the Regional Zongo Chief and Chief Imam have honoured its 'tafsil' ceremony, occasionally held for the commencement and climax of Ramadan each year.

The event held on Saturday, March 29 at the Cape Coast Central Mosque, is consequently organized to enhance the spiritual fortitude of Muslims in the Region through undiluted Islamic teachings by the Regional Chief Imam.

The ceremony was again geared towards celebrating some distinguish Muslim personalities in the Central Region whose input have helped shape the Islamic fraternity, hence worthy of recognition and award, some of whom are presently late.

Eminent personalities whose distinctive deeds won them an award during the ceremony includes ADO I Imam Abu Yussif of the Ghana National Fire Service (Central Region), Alidu Abdulai, the Human Resource Director of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Magagiya Amina Tanko, Queen Mother to the Central Regional Zongo Chief, among many others.

The Central Regional Zongo Chief equally received of the award for his exemplary leadership in overseeing the Muslim community in the Region to be peaceful for years in his reign as the Sarkin Zongo.

Awardees in an interview with Sompa News Eric Annan expressed outmost appreciation to the Central Regional Zongo leadership for the recognition.

Award winners out of delight observed shock, as according to them, they admonished to be doing what is required of them as Muslims, not knowing their selfless act was hugely appreciated by the Regional Zongo leadership.

In this view, they promised never to compromise on the yeoman's job which has won them such awards, but will be encourage by the recognition to do more in other to encourage those who seems reluctant in giving their all for the betterment of the Muslim fraternity in the Region.

Alhaji Mahmoud Dandey Mazawajay IV, the Central Regional Zongo Chief charged all and sundry, particularly persons of the Muslim community to emulate the selfless character of these awardees, since everything one does in the vicinity is well monitored and is in the watch of leadership.
