Chief Registrar for the Amasaman High Court in Accra, Mr. Felix Eddie Quansah has made a clarion call to government to adequately resource teachers in the country to help facilitate fair and healthy education delivery in Ghana.
Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 25th silver jubilee of Sir Peter Holdbrook-Smith Memorial School (SPOSA) in Cape Coast on the theme, "Our Alma Mater- A Blessing Upon Her," he beseeched government to also swift attention on private schools in its sponsored incentives on teaching and learning to public schools.
The High Court Registrar made this assertion in an interaction on pragmatic measures the state needs to undertake to make education more appealing to students, in other not to have them force into acquiring formal education.
The former General-Secretary of the Judicial Service Association of Ghana (JUSAG) again prayed on government to have private school education factored in its budgetary allocations, as done for public schools.
On challenges confronted by the school over the years in its high level knowledge delivery, Mrs. Susan Smith Kwaidoo, Proprietress of the school shared worry on the confrontations from some parents on what they term to be overburdening academic schedule on their wards.
The Proprietress further lamented on certain parent's intrusion to prevent teachers from disciplining and bringing up their wards the right way they ought to be brought up.
In all this, she said didn't discourage the school authorities in softening its stance in its knowledge delivery, as these troublesome parents are now in an ecstatic mood with unwavering appreciation to authorities of the school for the strict disciplinary measures taken to shape their children's future.
Julius Ken-Amoah, President of the SPOSA Old Students on their donation of 1 bright bulb for class 6 pupils, a white board for JHS 3, a 32-inch television set for nursery and kindergarten pupils together with some stationeries to the school, said that as past students, they felt pity upon being previewed to certain basic needs of the school.
Thus, the motivation for that swift response to donate to elevate the school's standard to its previous level.
He added that as old students, they have made a promise to add more to their alma mater by way of donation at the appropriate time, since some old students overseas have assured to add to the donated items.
The ceremony sponsored by old students of the school, saw reputable personalities like Nana Kwame Edu VI, Tufohene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Mr. Felix Eddie Quansah of JUSAG, and Miss Asiedua, the 2nd runner-up to Ghana's Most Beautiful 2022 edition who doubles as an old student of the school.
The event also had some past and present teachers of the school receive respective awards of honouring for their distinctive contribution to the school.
