Six houses belonging to some Fulani herdsmen in Gomoa Amenfi in the Central Region have been burnt down by locals in the area after a cattle from the ranche of the fulanis destroyed a pepper farm belonging to a local farmer in the area.
Properties and money running into thousands of cedis were destroyed in the fire.
Sources say one Fulani herdman also sustained injuries after he was attacked by the angry locals while returning from town.
An aged woman who was asleep during the attack also suffered minor burns.
Umaru Gariba, a member of the Fulani community in Gomoa Amenfi in an interview with Sompa News Eric Annan, expressed shock at the incident and called for justice.
According to him, due to the incident, they couldn't celebrate the just ended Eid festival.
Six individuals have been arrested by the Winneba Divisional Police Command in connection with the incident and are assisting in investigation.
