Green Earth Action Foundation, in collaboration with Zoomlion-Ghana Limited, has organized a clean-up exercise in Moree in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District in the Central Region to promote environmental sanitation, community pride, and public health.
By partnering with Zoomlion-Ghana, the Green Earth Action Foundation demonstrates its commitment to protecting the environment and improving living conditions in local communities.
Clean-up exercises like this, helps to raise awareness about the importance of proper waste management and community responsibility.
The exercise garnered astute individuals like Dr. Patrick Essien, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, Hon. Daniel Mensah Wardy, DCE of AAK, accompanied by the District Coordinating Director, District Environmental Officer and the District Planning Officer.
Christopher Benyah, Founder of Green Earth Action Foundation at the event disclosed to be a Green Earth Day which is a global event organized by the Green Earth Action Foundation, with global activities which falls under environmental protection, peace, diversity and inclusion.
He elaborated that the day is scheduled for awareness creation through communal activities to protect the environment to consequently create peace within the environment.
On the decision to settle on Moree for the clean-up exercise, he emphasized to work in the coastal city of Moree, taking into consideration the area's issues in managing its rubbish.
He further reiterated that "with the advent of climate change and tidal wave incidents which has destroyed many houses and caused many to be displaced in the community, deems it important to create awareness in the area," he explained.
Mr. Benyah again shared delight on the attendance of the exercise which he described as 'massive' considering the level of publicity channelled towards the activity and the foundation's coordination with Zoomlion-Ghana Limited.
He then chanced on the opportunity to appreciate the DCE of AAK for his immense support and presence at the exercise with the assurance to hopefully sustain the activity and promised to channel resident's request for dustbins to his superiors.
