Auntie Sarah, a prominent Kako seller in Mankessim in the Central region, has lavished praise on the Mahama administration, extolling their efforts in stabilizing the Ghanaian cedi against the formidable US dollar, which she humorously referred to as "Trump's dollar."
Despite her long-standing allegiance to a different political party, Auntie Sarah credits the NDC government with revitalizing her business.
According to her, she frequently engages in transactions involving the CFA currency, used for importing goods. Notably, the exchange rate has become more favorable under the current administration. Previously, acquiring 2 million CFA required between 50,000 to 60,000 Ghana cedis. However, recently, she was able to obtain over 2.3 million CFA with just 41,000 cedis, resulting in significant savings of between 9,000 to 10,000 cedis.
The appreciation of the cedi has had a profound impact on her business, making it more lucrative, less stressful, and easier to operate.
Auntie Sarah expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the NDC government for fostering an enabling economic environment that allows businesses like hers to flourish.
She also commended Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson, stating that those who attribute the cedi's stability to factors other than the government's efforts are mere saboteurs.
"My Kako business is safe now, because of the strong nature of Ghana's cedis. I pledge my full support for this government," she declared, convinced that the administration is genuinely committed to economic progress.
Witnessing the positive impact on her business, Auntie Sarah believes this government is trustworthy and dedicated to real economic advancement.
