Drivers and residents of Breman Jamera in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District in the Central Region have heaped appraisals on their District Chief Executive and chiefs of the community for prioritizing the safety and comfort of their people.
The bridge linking Breman Jamera to Akim Oda collapsed some weeks ago, leaving drivers and commuters stranded after a heavy downpour.
In view of this, the District Chief Executive for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, Hon. Olivia Bentsil and the chiefs of Breman Jamera have offered temporal repairs to the bridge for drivers and commuters to access the road.
Speaking to Sompa News, Hon. Olivia recounted that the Assembly is not with enough funds to construct the bridge, even though the road on which the bridge lies have been awarded to a contractor. Hence, the effort to temporarily renovate the bridge to the motorable for drivers and computers.
She further commended Mr. Kofi Ampomah Antwi, the NDC Youth Organizer at UK for coming into the community's aid with stones and chippings to fill the road to make it accessible enough.
Mr. Kofi Ampomah Antwi, the UK NDC Youth Organizer, addressed to have spotted the dilapidated bridge for a while now, but perceived the previous NPP government would have done something to give it a facelift which they unfortunately didn't. Thus, when the call came from the DCE for him to offer help, he couldn't held back but avail himself to support.
He assured to collaborate with the DCE and the MP to see to it that the bridge is fully and properly constructed, with the promise to monitor any contractor the project will be handed over to, since the bridge needs special attention.
Gyasehene of Breman Jamera, Nana Kwasi Enin who couldn't hide his joy, extended some words of appreciation to the DCE and the people of Breman Jamera for coming out to help solve the problem at hand.
He also urged the DCE, MP and the government to speed up in the construction of the road, having promised to ease-off burden on drivers and computers.
