Principal Bio-Medical Scientist at Our Lady of Grace Hospital in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District in the Central Region, Mr. Benjamin Anderson has urged Ghanaians to avail themselves to frequent blood donations.

He said that donating blood frequently is of immense importance to the human body. Adding that during blood donation, one gets to be tested of all kind of diseases which helps in knowing the quality of blood one possesses in the body.

The Bio-Medical Scientist recounted this during a blood donation by Compassion Ghana in collaboration with Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Kuntunasi in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District.

He further disclosed the hospital of having no blood should any patient be in need of one. Thus, the collaboration with Compassion Ghana to donate blood in celebration of their 20 years anniversary.

Project Director for Compassion Ghana, Mr. Enock Kyei Baffour said that when they heard of the hospital's shortage of blood, it stroke them to halt all their activities to organize the blood donation exercise for the district hospital.

He uncovered that the foundation's purpose is to help the needy and those who can't afford a blood at the hospital in other to save lives.

Chief of Breman Kuntunasi who doubles as the Nefahene of the Breman Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Odoom Essilfi III, additionally commended the blood donation exercise.

He asserted that as residents, the need has come for them to also donate blood to support the project, since needy children in the community stands a greater chance to benefit from that.
