The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the coordination of the International Affairs Secretariat, has opened a call for event proposals for the 2025 edition of “December in GH.”
In a statement signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bright Asempa Tsadidey, the Authority encouraged stakeholders, creatives, and event organizers to submit proposals that align with the country’s tourism development agenda.
The 2025 edition is part of the Black Star Experience, Ghana’s premier tourism initiative, which aims to position the country as the ultimate destination for culture, heritage, entertainment, and reconnection. Held during the festive season, “December in GH” features a full month of curated events spanning music, fashion, art, culture, and nightlife.
According to the GTA, the initiative continues to attract thousands of visitors globally, including members of the Ghanaian diaspora returning home and the wider African diaspora seeking to reconnect with their roots.
The annual event has become a symbol of Ghana’s vibrant cultural identity and a key driver of economic and tourism growth.
The GTA invites events organizers, promoters and cultural curators to submit proposal for events scheduled between 1st December, 2025 to 3rd January, 2026 that will contribute to a vibrant and diverse calendar of activities across the country.
According to the GTA, all proposals must be submitted by Monday, 16th June 2025, through the official submission form.
The call is part of the Black Star Experience, Ghana’s flagship tourism initiative aimed at positioning the country as a top destination for cultural celebration, heritage exploration, and reconnection. “December in GH” has grown into a globally recognized month-long celebration featuring music, art, fashion, nightlife, and other curated cultural events.
The December in GH campaign continues to play a major role in boosting tourism, strengthening cultural industries and reinforces Ghana’s reputation as the gateway to Africa. This year’s edition promises to be historic, and all stakeholders are encouraged to be part of this transformative journey.
