The Ashanti Regional President for Flour Millers Association of Ghana, Madam Akosua Akotua has called for immediate action from government on the rising cost of flour which has been astronomical in recent times.

Speaking in an interview with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye, on Sompa morning show, the president maintained that the flour has received an increase about 40% which has really affected the pricing of bread on the market.

The Ghana statistical service yesterday, August 10, 2022 purged the July inflation at 31.8% with food and transport fares increase being the drivers of the inflation.
