Assistant commissioner of Immigration (ACI) John Morcher, Sampa sector Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service in the Jaman North district of the Bono region has called on the government to endeavour to create more jobs for the unemployed youth in the country.
He said many enterprising young people in the country undertake irregular migration to fetch greener pastures abroad because of the unemployment.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM at Sampa, the District capital, ACI Morcher urged the youth to desist from the get rich quick attitude popularly known as 'sakawa' in the Ghanaian parlance.
He said there was still numerous economic opportunities in the midst of the current unemployment situation in the country.
ACI Morcher also called on the residents along border communities to assist the service to combat crime by providing information about people with questionable characters to the service.
