Emotions are reactions that human beings experience in response to events or situations. The type of emotion a person experiences is determined by the circumstance that triggers the emotion.

In October 2, 2018, Captain Solomon Quianoo became the only Ghanaian pilot to have fly the world's biggest passenger aircraft, Emirates' Airbus A380 from Dubai to Accra. 

Captain Solomon Quainoo has shared his experience in the air and the emotions attached when he landed on the Kotoka International airport in an interview with Eric Murphy Asare on sompaonline.com.

According to him, he cannot find words to explain the feelings and emotions attached to his hero welcome to Ghana in 2018.

“I dreamt of becoming a pilot at a very tender age, but it never came to mind that I will be the first Ghanaian to fly the world’s largest aircraft to my motherland, I was very emotional, very happy, I can’t find the right words to explain how I felt, but I remember we were very professional doing our job and stayed focus because we carried over 550 passengers at a go, but when we landed and moved from the round way, I handed it to my co-pilot and the tears started flowing, when I saw the crowd, the drumming and the dancing of the people, I cried, it was very emotional, he explained.

He further explained that the aircraft has been designed to take about 850 passengers but had 550 on board.

“it was that huge, most aircraft pick up to 300 passengers but the 380 can take up to 850, that should tell you how huge its, most of the time the numbers on board are much more than the number in some villages we fly over since it’s a double decker aircraft, he laughed.

Reacting on his illustrious career as a pilot, he said he started piloting since 2014 and has since been in the business, he shared some challenges he went through while encouraging the young ones to pursue their dream.

“When I started I didn’t have access to mobile phones or any access to technology, today research is very easy with the use of google, so they should do more research and study hard. I have been mentoring a lot of the youth, guiding them on how to make their dream a reality.
