The former Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Mr Daniel Okyem Aboagye has shared light on the relevance of the Ghana card and how will it help stabilize the Ghanaian economy through systemic approach.
The National Identification Card (Ghana Card) is a valid verification document issued by the National Identification Authority (NIA) to Ghanaians and permanently resident foreign nationals living everywhere for the purpose of identification. It is the property of the Government of Ghana.
Over a period of time since its registration, concerns have been raised regarding the usefulness of the card and how beneficial to the ordinary Ghanaian.
In an interview on ‘Na Mennim” with Tofiakwa on Sompa Tv, the magnate have underscored the importance of the Ghana Card, and provided insight to its benefit to business and future prospect.
According to him, the future looks bright for business when all the required process concerning the Ghana Card is finalized.
He stressed the Ghana card will help in producing credible electronic National Identity Register that shall contain the personal information of foreign nationals resident in Ghana to enable the Government to plan for all persons living in the country and Issuing foreign nationals with a Non-citizen Ghana card for the purpose of identity authentication.
He emphasized that it will also help facilitating access to services which require identity verification as defined in the National Identity Register Regulations 2012, L. I. 2111 (refer to Regulation 7).
Apart from the Improvements in national and border security, it will help Government to protect the rights of foreign nationals as required by international obligations/treaties to which Ghana is a signatory.
This according to him, aside these benefits, Ghanaians should start embracing themselves to a well-structured economy that will offer financial support through loans in the near future
“Accessing loans will be the easiest thing in Ghana very soon, business will boom, you will not need to go the bank for loans, loans will be sent directly to you through credit cards, apart from keeping public records it will also boost the economy, he stated.
